Laboratory of Nuclear Processes (est. in 1972)

Objectives: nucleus structure and the mechanisms responsible for nuclear reactions at low and mediate energies.

  • Systematic studies of scattering processes, ion and alpha-particle reactions with the nuclei 4Не32S at energies of 34-50 MeV, nuclear rainbow effects, role of exchange mechanisms in abnormal scattering for large angles at highly clusterized nuclei, differential scattering sections and total sections with neutron-excess nuclei, determination of parameters and values for phenomenological and semimicroscopic interaction potentials
  • Studies of threshold effects in reactions (a, p) and (a, d) at carbon and lithium isotopes and transfer mechanisms for two and three nucleons, cluster pickup reaction
  • Studies of preequilibrium emission of charged particles in reactions with helium nuclides at nuclei ranging from aluminum to lead, differential and total interaction sections for neutron-excess nuclei 6Не, 8Не, influence of the particle type in the entrance channel on sections of multistage direct and compound processes
  • Development of identification methods for alpha-emitters in the environment.

Duisebayev Alnur - Doctor of physics and mathematical sciences, professor, head of the laboratory.

Scientific interests: experimental nuclear physics, mechanisms of nuclear reactions with charged particles, cluster aspects of nuclei, investigation of exotic nuclei properties, alpha radio-activity of environmental objects.
